PVAStrumento 2.1 public pre-release

    
 

 

Zunächst eine Warnung:

Achten Sie auf Backups Ihrer Aufnahmen und löschen Sie vor allem Originale nicht bevor Sie sicher sind, dass sie von PVAStrumento 2.1 korrekt verarbeitet wurden. 
Für einen Verlust von Daten bei Benutzung von PVAStrumento 2.1 wird keine Haftung übernommen.

Nachdem das gesagt ist, und mit allen Vorbehalten und Haftungsausschlüssen, wird empfohlen, PVAStrumento 2.1 einzusetzen, statt der älteren 2.0.x Version. (Nur die Hilfe-Datei fehlt noch)
After having said that, and with all disclaimers about useability and disclaiming any liability, it is recommended to use PVAStrumento 2.1 instead of the older 2.0.x version. (It's just that the help-file is still missing.)

Seit dem Erscheinen der Version 2.0 von PVAStrumento haben sich die Ansprüche an das "kleine Progrämmchen" immer weiter vergößert. Die Funktionen von PVAStrumento wurden erweitert, und der Anwendungsbereich ist längst nicht mehr auf das Demuxen von DVB-Aufnahmen beschränkt.

Neue Funktionen werden dringend gebraucht: Verarbeitung mehrerer Audio-Spuren, Verarbeitung von AC3-Ton, grundlegende Schnittfunktionen.

Es war Zeit, PVAStrumento gründlich zu überarbeiten, manche Design-Entscheidung aus dem Jahre 2000 trug nicht mehr. Zeit für PVAStrumento 2.1.

PVAStrumento ist aus und mit den Ansprüchen der Benutzer gewachsen, die Entwicklung wurde von den Benutzern vorangetrieben und unterstützt. 

Hier werden Vorab-Versionen der Version 2.1 von PVAStrumento zur Verfügung gestellt. Die sind zwar auf dem "heimischen System" schon getestet, aber sicher noch mit einigen Bugs behaftet. Hilfe durch Testen ist willkommen.

 Since the release of version 2.0 of PVAStrumento the expectations on this "little hack" have continuosly grown. The functionality of PVAStrumento has been expanded and its application is no longer only in the DVB area.

New functionality is urgently needed: the handling of multiple MPEG-audio streams, the handling of AC-3 sound, maybe some basic editing functions.

It was about time for a re-invention of PVAStrumento, some design-decisions from 2000 just would not hold up anymore.

PVAStrumento grew from and with the users' needs. The development has been pushed and supported by the user community.

Here you will find pre-releases of the upcoming Version 2.1 of PVAStrumento. Although these versions have been tested in the "home environment" there are bound to contain bugs. Help in testing and pinpointing of bugs is needed.

It's been a while - had to spend too much time with other stuff.

Fixed a few things, although there are still open ends :-(

Fixed: MPEG output playable with MicroSoft MediaPlayer, fixed the slowing down/memory gobbling problem, fixed a problem with UK DVB-T streams, fixed setting the "closed GOP" flag in first GOP.
Changed: The TS-parsing has been improved, the pre-scanning has been changed.

 Hat diesmal eine ganze Weile gedauert, bis zum Update: Zu viele andere Dinge waren zu erledigen.

Ein paar Sachen sind repariert, aber es gibt noch einige lose Enden zu verknüpfen.

Repariert: Erzeuigte MPEG PS Dateien sind wieder mit Media Player abspielbar (aber manche ruckelig ??), das Problem des "Abbremsens" mit Speicher-Fresserei wurde behoben, ein paar Probleme mit DVB-T Aufnahmen in UK und Finland wurden beseitigt. Das "closed GOP" flag wurde irrtümlicherweise nicht gesetzt.

Verändert: Die Interpretation von TS Aufnahmen wurde erweitert und das Pre-Scanning hat sich ein wenig geändert.

Still a RC - not quite there.... but the Help-file is almost finished and a prelim. version can be downloaded.
There have been a few bugfixed regarding TS parsing and I reconsidered video PTS parsing. The mods for DVB-T (Fin and UK) introduced a dead loop in certain circumstances. This has been fixed. DVB-T users in Finland and the UK should now switch on "relaxed Video PTS checking" in the "experts"-tab.
 Noch ein Kandidat - noch nicht ganz eine Freigabe-Version... aber die Hilfe-Datei ist zumindest in Englisch fast fertig und kann jetzt mit heruntergeladen werden.

In dieser Version wurden ein paar Fehler in Bezug auf die Auswertung von Transportströmen behoben. Ausserdem hat sich gezeigt, dass die für DVB-T in Finnland und dem Vereinigten Königreich geänderte Auswertung von Video-Zeitstempeln in bestimmten Fällen zu Problemen (Totschleife) führte. DVB-T Nutzer in Finnland und Großbrittanien sollten jetzt in den Experten-Einstellungen die Option "relaxed Video PTS" einschalten

  This (the fifth) release candidate has quite a bit in audio handling changed. Therefore I will leave the RC4 online until RC5 has been sufficiently tested by the community !. Im fünften Kandidat hat sich die Audio-Behandlung noch einmal geändert. Aus dem Grunde bleibt der RC4 zunächst zum Herunterladen bereitgestellt, bis die Nutzer den RC5 ausreichend getestet und für "gut" befunden haben.
What has been changed:

CHANGED:
  • audio: changed the way missing frames are detected and modified the audio offset tracking. While this should help our Finish users a lot, extensive tests should be done !
  • back to auto-detection of AC3 in MPEG2 program streams
BUGFIXES:
  • Fixed a problem with BBC Prime transport stream recordings.
  • fixed detection of AC3 in relaxed TS semantics checking

VERÄNDERT:
  • Tonspuren: Die Art der Erkennung fehlender Audiodaten und die Handhabung sich akkumulierender Ton-Verschiebungen wurde geändert. Die sollte unseren finnischen Benutzern sehr helfen. Allerdings sollte das Verhalten von PVAStrumento erst einmal genauer beobachtet und ausgiebig getestet werden.
  • AC3 Ton in MPEG2 Programmströmen wird nun wieder automagisch erkannt.
Fehlerbehebungen:
  • Ein Problem mit Transportstrom-Aufnahmen von BBC Prime wurde beseitigt.
  • Ein Fehler in der Erkennung von AC3 Ton in Transportstrom-Aufnahme mit fehlerhafter Semantik wurde behoben.

Yet another (the fourth) release candidate. Still waiting for the new Helpfile....  Schon wieder ein Kandidat (der vierte) für die Freigabe-Version 2.1.0. Wir warten auf's Christkind auf das Helpfile.
What has been changed:

ADDED:
  • option: Strict checking of audio frame legths (in "Experts"-Tab, Default:ON)
  • option: relaxed checking of TS semantics (in "Experts-Tab", default ON)
  • option: restrict the maximum size (in kB) a GOP can have (in "Experts-Tab", default: 980 kB)
  • recognized file-extensions: *.rec is now recognized as a TS recording.
BUGFIXES:
  • When geration of .idd files was on, "Scanning" a file would cause a program crash.
  • sometimes, when audio format changes in a file, a "change back" to the original format was not recognized

  • Einstellbar: Strikte Überprüfung auf Einhalten der Audio-Framelängen ("Experts"-Einstellung : "strict checking of audio ....", voreingestellt: AN)
  • Einstellbar: Nachlässigere Überprüfung der Semantik von TS Aufnahmen ("Experts"-Einstellung: "relaxed checking of TS semantics" , voreingestellt: AN)
  • Einstellbar: Beschränkung der Maximallänge einer GOP ("Experts"-Einstellungen, voreingestellt: max. 980 kB)
  • Die Dateiendung .rec wird jetzt als eine TS Aufnahme erkannt.
Fehlerbehebungen:
  • Wenn die Erzeugung von .idd Indexdateien eingestellt war, führte ein "Scannen" einer Datei zum Programmabbruch.
  • Wenn sich das Audioformat in einer Datei mehrfach ändert, wurde manchmal die "Zurückschaltung" auf das ursprüngliche Tonformat nicht erkannt.

Still missing for the "release" is the helpfile. It has to be seriously adapted. 		Dies ist der dritte Kandidat für die Freigabe-Version 2.1.0. Für den Release fehlt noch die Überarbeitung des Helpfiles.
What has been changed:
  • ADDED .idd file creation during demux for use with MPEG2Schnitt V0.6f
  • BUGFIX: Reset the GOP timecodes to zero at start of a new job
  • CHANGED: working with a single file out of a DreamBox fileset  is now possible
 Änderungen:
  • NEU: Während des Demuxens können .idd Dateien zur Benutzung mit MPEG2Schnitt V0.6f erzeugt werden.
  • FEHLERBEHEBUNG: Die GOP Zeitstempel werden beim Start eines neuen Jobs auf Null zurückgesetzt.
  • ÄNDERUNG: Eine einzelne Datei aus "der Mitte" einer DreamBox Aufnahme wird nun korrekt verarbeitet.

Dies ist der zweite Kandidat für die Freigabe-Version 2.1.0. Für den Release fehlt noch die Überarbeitung des Helpfiles.

Ein paar Fehler wurden noch behoben.
What has been changed:
  • fixed another bug in the video header re-writing
  • now keeping track of accumulation of audio offsets across files and cuts (-> my be switched off in the experts-tab); this should improve processing of input files that have multiple cuts
  • added option to disable interpretation of MPEG2 private stream1 as AC-3 packets. That should help finnish users.
 Änderungen:
  • Ein weiterer Fehler in der Manipulation von Video Headern wurde behoben (betraf das "chließen" von GOPs an Schnittstellen)
  • Änderungen im Audio-Versatz an Schnittstellen in der Eingabedatei werden nun anders berücksichtigt. Dies sollte zu deutlichen Verbesserungen bei geschnittenen Eingabedateien führen. Einstellbar unter "Experten"-Einstellung ("accumulation of audio offsets")
  • Die Interpretation von private stream1 Paketen als AC-3 kann nun im Audio-Tab ausgeschaltet werden.

Also any bugs that are found during the next week will still be fixed in the release.

New features will then be added in Version 2.1.1.

Dies ist der Kandidat für die Freigabe-Version 2.1.0. Für den Release fehlt noch die Überarbeitung des Helpfiles.

Natürlich werden auch noch alle in der nächste Woche gefundenen Fehler in der Release behoben werden.

Neue Features gibt es dann erst in der Version 2.1.1.



What has been changed:

PVAStrumento now behaves better on files that have been cut. A new option for following the accumulation of audio offsets throught cuts has been added (default is ON).

Änderungen:
  • Die Dateinamen in einem Jobfile ("batch processing") werden jetzt wieder so verarbeitet, wie in der 2.0.30er Version. Damit sollte DVD2SVCD nun auch mit der neuen Version richtig funktionieren.
  • Speicherfehler bei einer "zu kurzen" letzten GOP  wurde behoben.

This will probably be the last "pre"-Version. Finally.

  • "make PS" now works, will create MPEG program streams. No AC-3 output in Make PS yet !
  • bug that was introduced with setting of GOP timecodes fixed
  • file splitting again possible (no overlapping of output !)
  • fixed handling of audio-only DreamBox recordings ("radio")
  • fixed the drop of the last GOP in DEMUX
  • bug fixed: reset multi-file list in multi-job batchfiles
  • "make PS" funktioniert nun, damit können MPEG2 program streams erzeugt werden. ALLERDINGS: Noch keine AC-3 Verarbeitung bei "make PS" !
  • Bug beim Erzeugen neuer GOP timecodes wurde behoben.
  • auch die 2.1er Version kann jetzt die Ausgabe-Dateien aufteilen ("file-splitting"). Allerdings kann sie keine überlappenden Ausgabedateien erzeugen.
  • die Verarbeitung von "Radio"-Aufzeichnungen der DreamBox wurde repariert.
  • Ein Fehler, der dazu führte, dass bei DEMUX die letzte GOP nicht geschrieben wurde, ist behoben worden.
  • Ein Fehler bei der Behandlung von Mehrfachdatei-Eingabe ("multi-file") in einer Batchdatei mit mehreren Jobs wurde gefunden und behoben.

There are still problems with some recordings from the Hauppauge DEC-Series. Sometimes these recordings will not say in sync when processed by PVAStrumento. Currently looking into that.

This is the first pre-release to contain AC3 processing.

It has been tested with some VDR recordings and with some DreamBox recordings. It should work with any MPEG recording, please try out and report bugs (or success...).

A note to commandshell-version users: The commandshell-version has been included and should be functioning. BEWARE that the filenaming-scheme has been changed: When demuxing, for the moment (!) the name of the video-output file is taken and extensions of mpa/mpv/ac3 are appended to the output file. Just use the old syntax (i.e. demuxing one mpeg audio and mpeg video). Multiple audio filenames and ac3-filenames will be created automagically. The syntax will change in the final release.

PVA-Output has been added. Tested with a number of DreamBox TS files. Processing has been sped up.

Still missing is AC-3 support. Also Topfield Recorder TS files are not yet understood.

Although quite a few tests have been run, please consider this pre-release untested and take extra special care. And: Please assist us in the testing, i.e. report all problems (files that don't work, A/V asyncs etc.) in the support forum.
